I recall you working to establish a forge on the Iskaulit some time ago. What is its current status?
If these visions are as ominous as several have made them sound, I wish to be prepared. I am armed, but nowhere near as capable with a spear as I am a proper hammer.
I also do not wish to rely too heavily on anything the Atroma saw fit to include in the armory. I have concerns about their reliability.
I am with you on that one, we definitely need more weapons. Not-Atroma ones, just in case. You want me to forge you a hammer? I can absolutely forge you a hammer. Please say you want me to forge you a hammer.
It would be quite a test for you. It must be capable of withstanding the strain placed on it through my use.
[So, at minimum, it would probably be a bad idea to make it the traditional way. She'd snap a wooden shaft in one swing.]
But I would also be interested in learning the trade for myself. Provided you are willing to teach me, of course. I could provide my services in exchange- I have no reason to believe the heat would even begin to pose a problem!
Captain. [ Guess who wasn't on the ship when it crashed? Oh well. ] I'm on the planet, with the Bloodsport. I thought I should tell you in case you were worried!
[Now normally Riona would just come up to Sokka and inquire about this in person, but she's been a bit... occupied the last day or two. She's out in the woods, scouting a bit, but decides to take a breather and message Sokka while she's thinking of this.]
Oh wondrous captain. There's someone who'd like to transfer to our wonderful ship, and I was hoping you'd oblige by letting them transfer.
Mmm. I should have thrown a 'fabulous' in there, too, shouldn't I have? Ah well.
[While she knew he wouldn't say no, she still can't help the grin that spreads across her face. It's been a long time since she's been this happy.]
Perfect! He's got the lab augment, too, so we'll have a med bay again and a medic. Though, him as a medic is going to be entertaining, to say the least.
[Alistair's usually the one NEEDING to be patched up, not the other way around. Luckily the augment will help fill in the gaps.
At his teasing question, Riona laughs a little.]
Why yes, he is. I am quite fond of him, I have to say.
Are you able to able to work with magnets? I'm needing a very specific birthday present. I'm also aware that we're still dealing with quite an aftermath, so I understand if you can't work on anything right now. But I know some people like keeping themselves busy, circumstances aside.
[Justice has been meaning to make contact with Sokka since they re-entered orbit. So sorry, Sokka, because now you have a man who looks suspiciously dead arriving at your forge, looking you up and down. Riona hadn't mentioned that he is injured.]
Are you the Captain of the Blue Fish? [Justice knows his name, but he's more comfortable using titles and ready identifiers over names. He'll use Sokka's name more as he warms up.]
[Welp. That sure is a walking dead guy. That sure is a thing that's happening right now. Sokka kind of...stares for a moment, if worse comes to the worst, he's got plenty to defend himself here. Of course, doing it one handed would be a lot more difficult, but-
And the the dead guy speaks to him, and he relaxes a little. ]
[At this point, Justice is used to people being uneasy around him, so he ignores it. Either the man will warm up to him or he won't.] I was informed by Riona that you forge shields.
[Justice looks down at the man's injured arm. He doesn't know all that much about forging, but he's pretty sure it's two-handed work.] Are you still able to?
Sokka, hello. It appears you were right in your guess about my brother turning up in the Fleet again. I expect your experience in this place serves you well in these hunches! In any case, I've got some things to discuss with Loki so I'll be back on the Blue Fish later. Just thought I'd let you know.
[Well that's a reassuring message to get. Especially after what Thor said about his family last time. At least he sounds upbeat.]
Hey Sokka. Aang's here. He's coming from a different place, and I don't think he's doing so well. So I'm going to be staying out with him in the desert tonight, and I'll let you know how things go.
Yeah, I saw him, he's really nervous. I don't think me being older than he remembers is helping much, either. What the heck has he even gone through to be THAT distrustful?
[It's a genuine worry, heartbreaking, almost. ]
If anyone can get through to him, you can. Keep me updated, okay? And let me know if you need anything.
[It is heartbreaking. She's scared and worried for him. But she's trying not to let that show.]
I don't know yet, but it doesn't sound good. Aang's strong, though, so he'll get through this. I know he will. He just needs time and to see that we're there for him again.
[There's a brief moment as he checks up on their inventory. ]
Meat is pretty okay, but stuff like salt and other preservatives is always handy. Maybe a few extra first aid stuff, just in case. And we can always use scrap metal.
